Joshua has an extensive background in athletics. He grew up playing a myriad of sports, and in college he settled into one sport, his passion, basketball. He finished his collegiate career helping his team to their first appearance at the NAIA Division 1 National Tournament.
After graduation he and Kara traveled to Israel for a one month basketball tour with Athletes in Action(AIA). During that trip, Josh was invited to play for a club in Beit Jala(Bethlehem) for a whole year. He played for the Beit Jala Orthodox Club and then he played with the Palestinian National Team in the Arab World Tournament in Amman, Jordan. Once back in the states, Josh and Kara moved to Anchorage, AK as Josh joined Alaska's new ABA basketball team, the Alaska Dream.
Josh's knowledge of sports, basketball, injuries, and strength and conditioning is extensive, and he decided to turn that knowledge into helping others. He began his journey to becoming a Certified Rolfer in the Spring of 2014 when he attended Phase 1 at the Rolf Institute in Boulder, CO. He is now finishing his 3rd and final phase and will be accepting clients beginning December 21, 2015. He is passionate about using Rolfing® to bring balance to structures and utilizing your movement to it's fullest potential. For more information on Rolfing®, check out our FAQ's.
Kara has been a massage therapist since 2003. She attended Utah College of Massage Therapy for her professional training. She began her practice in Colorado at the Broadmoor Resort. Here she learned a variety of spa modalities and other therapies that she would integrate into her sessions with clients. After working at one of the top spas in the nation, she packed her bags and moved to Washington, where she worked in a medical setting for some time. Here she saw firsthand the benefits of injury massage.
